KS4 Curriculum Guide - Year 11 Physical Education
Term 1: 3.2.2 Socio-Cultural Influences   
Students will develop knowledge and understanding of the socio-cultural factors that impact on physical activity and sport, and the impact of sport on society.
Assessment: Theory: students will complete a 50 minute (55 mark) question paper on the 3.2.1 Sports Psychology unit of work and 3.2.2. Socio-Cultural Influences. This will follow a similar structure to a GCSE paper, involving multiple choice, short answer and longer answer questions. Key Words and Terms
 
Term 2: 3.2.3 Health, Fitness and Well-Being   
Students should develop knowledge and understanding of the benefits of participating in physical activity and sport to health, fitness and well-being.
Assessment: Theory: students will complete a 75 minute (78 mark) question paper on the 3.2.1 Sports Psychology unit of work, 3.2.2. Socio-Cultural Influences and 3.2.3 Health, Fitness and Well-Being. This will be a mock GCSE paper, involving multiple choice, short answer and longer answer questions. Key Words and Terms
 
Term 3: Non-Exam Coursework  
Students complete their analysis and evaluation section of the course. Students analyse strengths and weaknesses of their own or peer performances and then create an action plan to improve on their weaknesses.

Term 4: PE Revision 
Students will re-visit topics that have been previously been studied during the course. The topics that are re-visited are based on analysis from the mock results in that cohort of students.

Term 5: General PE Revision  
Students will complete revision from all aspects of the course before their GCSE PE exam
