KS4 Curriculum Guide - Year 11 Art
Term 1 and 2Pop Art and Typography - Student Led 
In term 1 and 2 of year 11 Students will independently explore artists to inspire their ideas leading to a final outcome. This will be a personal rand meaningful response to the theme. Their final piece will be produced in a 10 hour mock examination under examination conditions. Students response can be in the form of a sculpture, painting, drawing, mixed media piece or textile piece- anything that suitably and appropriately concludes their sketchbook work.
Assessment: Students will be assessed holistically, taking into account the work they have done over the entire term. They will be assessed on their development of ideas, written research of artists/themes, experimentation of materials, use of materials and final outcomes. Key Words and Terms
 
Terms 3 and 4Unit 2 Coursework - Student Led Theme 
Students will be introduced to the externally set exam themes. They will independently select a theme and research artists and develop and experiment ideas to explore this theme.

Terms 4 & 5Unit 2 External examination 
Students will continue with their preparatory studies for their exam. GCSE Art concludes with a 10 hour exam during which, students will complete their final personal response.
