Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 Sixth Form

Term 1: Tu as du temps a perdre ?

Students will explore events in the francophone world and practise giving extended opinions. They will discuss what they do online and why, say what they do to stay active and what things they like to watch. They will also discuss hobbies in a more general sense and revise the three time frames so as to give fuller answers at GCSE level.

Term 2: Mon clan, mon tribu

Students will learn how to talk about their identity, relationships with others and describe how people look. They will talk about positive (and negative) role models and discuss celebrations.

Term 3: Ma vie scolaire

Students will learn about education in Francophone countries and discuss school subjects in detail. They will look at school rules, la laicité and talk about what has happened at school recently. They will get the opportunity to talk about how school used to be when they were younger and give opinions on learning languages.

Term 4: En pleine forme

Pupils will discuss fitness and healthy living, food and describing illness and accidents. They will also say what they are going to do to improve and which lifestyle changes they would like to make.

Term 5: Numéro vacances

Students will learn about and discuss different kinds of holidays and accommodation, expressing how their ideal holidays would be. They will study Corsica and some of the holiday activities available there. They will also talk about festivals and review different kinds of accommodation and staycation activities.

This module allows students to discover new countries, cultures and experiences and encourages them to contrast them with their own lives and experiences. Students can also think about how they would cope with holiday disasters.

Create a supportive community:
Fosters resilience in students and gives them an awareness of other countries and cultures.

Term 6: Révisions et examens

Students will revise what they have learned during the course of Year 10.

Students should sit a Year 10 GCSE full Mock examination in all four skills - Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. The speaking exam takes place towards the end of June and will cover the read aloud, role play and general conversation task.
