Weeks 1 to 6: Vive les vacances ! (Long live holidays!)

In this unit, pupils learn to use the passé composé (past) tense to say where they went on holidays, what they did and how it was. They will practise combining the present and past tenses within their answers.

There will be two assessments: reading and listening

Weeks 7 to 12: J'adore les fêtes ! (I love festivals/parties)

In this unit, pupils learn to speak about festivals and celebrations, buying food at a market and use the perfect tense with -ir and -re verbs, building upon their knowledge for the previous unit.

Weeks 13 to 19: A loisir (At leisure)

In this unit, pupils learn to discuss TV programmes, celebrities and digital technology as well as to arrange going to the cinema and express opinions on different kinds of films.

Weeks 19 to 24: Le monde est petit (It's a small world)

In this unit, pupils learn to talk about where they live, their surroundings and describe their daily routines. They will practise using the form pouvoir (can/to be able to)+ infinitive and use reflexive verbs.

Weeks 25 to 30: Le sport en direct (Live sport)

In this unit, pupils discuss sports and giving opinions on them, asking the way and giving directions, discussing injuries and illnesses. They will practise using il faut (must) with an infinitive and will complete a role play task in class.

Weeks 31 to 36: Révisions and Les Choristes

Pupils will revise key content and grammar from the year and will complete a film project based on Les Choristes.
